Halfway Park, Cardonald Glasgow

Co-ordinated by Southside Housing Association(SHA) this project aimed to transform bland open space into a new vibrant community greenspace; as well as promoting biodiversity the new park will include play areas, growing space, cycle and walking routes and provide opportunities for people to participate in activities and in the set-up, management and use of Halfway Community Park.

Based on designs prepared by ERZ Landscape Architects, this project required major capital investment of over £2.25 million and Community Links Scotland (CLS) supported SHA to secure:

  • £901,000 SNH Green Infrastructure Funds

  • £750,000 match from Glasgow City Council

  • £60,000 Southside Housing Association

  • £20,000 of EB Scotland Communities a Play Area within the park
