Cadder Community Centre, Cadder Housing Association Glasgow
(November 2012 – March 2016)
In 2012, Community Links Scotland (CLS) were appointed by Cadder Housing Association to prepare a business plan, working alongside Cooper Cromer Architects commissioned to prepare the feasibility study, for a new Community Centre for Cadder. The Centre was owned and managed by Glasgow City Council until 2010 when local residents successfully campaigned to save the centre from closure; at this point management was transferred to a committee of local residents working with Cadder HA. CLS carried out community and stakeholder consultations and an options analysis; the completed business plan was successful in helping to secure capital funding to the value of £3 million. The building opened in the spring of 2016 and is well used by local community groups and social enterprises.
