CLS has provided ongoing support to Branchton Community Centre over the past five years which has enabled Branchton Community Centre Association (BCCA) voluntary managed committee to provide a more enhanced programme of activities, services and opportunities to improve quality of life. Programmes have included education classes and training courses, youth drop in clubs, healthy evening meal services and more people in volunteering activities based at the Centre. Additionally, CLS have procured funding for dedicated Community Development staff to deliver the Community Activator programme (empowerment of local people) and also for the development of a new community sports and improved play facilities adjacent to the Centre plus play worker support.

Total funding procured for Branchton Community Centre Association: £748,000

  • £178,000 Scottish Government Aspiring Communities Fund

  • £120,000 Cashback for Communities

  • £50,000 of public funds from Inverclyde Council.

  • £100,000 Climate Challenge Fund
