Argyll and Bute Employability Programme

Community Links Scotland worked with Argyll and Bute Employability Team, Argyll and Islands Coast and Countryside Trust and Working Rite, supported by local social landlords, to develop training and employability initiatives throughout Argyll from 2010. Projects included the establishment of landscape employment training squads, village hall enhancement squads, outdoor education instructor training, local trades mentoring initiatives and Modern Apprenticeships.

To fund these programmes CLS were responsible for procuring:

  • >£1.3 million of Scottish Government Wider Role/People and Communities funding

  • £83,000 of LEADER funding

  • £104,000 Future Jobs Fund Scotland

  • £30,000 Big Lottery

  • Beneficiary support through DWP and SDS
