The Scottish Government states a household is fuel-poor if “they spend more than 10% of net income paying for their reasonable fuel needs after housing costs have been deducted or the remaining household income is not enough to maintain an acceptable standard of living once childcare costs and disability or care benefits are deducted”.

34% of Scottish households are in fuel poverty in 2023.

23% of Scottish households are in extreme fuel poverty in 2023.

We provide free and confidential advice and assistance to residents of West Dunbartonshire who may be struggling with heating their home, paying their fuel bills and managing fuel debt.

Our energy advisors can assist you through home visits or appointments via phone call, Zoom, Facetime, or WhatsApp to provide support with:

  • Understanding your energy bills

  • Setting up new accounts

  • Comparing tariffs and switching supplier

  • Understanding your heating system and controls

  • Becoming more energy efficient in your home

  • Arranging repayment plans with your supplier

  • Managing fuel debt

  • Handling complaints with energy suppliers
