Positive Achievements Celebrate a Successful Year

Positive Achievements Staff Development EventThis month saw a very successful day of a staff development event for the newly branded Positive Achievements (formally Positive Alternatives) department within East Dunbartonshire Council. The group were completing their work for the year at a fantastic celebration of the young people’s achievements throughout the year.

In keeping with the celebration and achievement theme, the staff team participated in a series of group dynamics and team building exercises delivered by the Community Links Scotland’s Training and Volunteer Coordinator Janette Devlin to help highlight their own and the team’s successes and achievements over the last year; a challenging one by all accounts where they have had to adapt to many changes. It offered the staff an opportunity to reflect on their contributions to the team as well as have a light-hearted fun approach at analysing, debating and opinion giving about the different types of characteristics and behaviours that make up their team.

Thankfully they had a terrific blend of different types of personalities which has obviously contributed to their success as a staff team. The group received accolades and public recognition for the work that they have achieved in the last year and this enabled them to reflect and think about their vision for the new year ahead of them.

A great participative day with terrific levels of positive energy and motivation from all in the team and we look forward to working with them again soon.
