New Ground for CLS

We are delighted to have started a piece of work with Blair Atholl Village Hall committee. The village is lucky enough to have a beautiful and spacious facility in the centre of the historic village. Blair Atholl HallAfter a period of crisis, a new committee was set up and soon had recruited over thirty friends of the hall. Money was raised to do much needed remedial repairs to the hall itself and also to the hall flat which is rented out. Thanks to the current committee, the hall is alive. The main hall and associated meeting space are used by the mother and toddlers group, the local football club, the rifle club, the Pitlochry and Blair Atholl Pipe Band, the community council and the Blair Atholl and Struan Initative, amongst others, and the building is the venue for many functions from wedding parties and auctions to fly tying and slimming classes!

However, the building requires to be updated in many ways. Although beautiful, it is rather rundown and cold, the changing and toilet facilities and kitchen require modernising and there are spaces which could be much better used if upgraded to benefit new and existing user groups alike. The committee have aspirations to bring about these much needed developments but owing to the currently very competitive funding climate, they face an uphill challenge and we hope to help them in this regard.
