First SQA Accredited Course to Start in Summer

Our first course run as an SQA centre will be the PDA in Youth Work that’s starting this summer. We’ve gone through an extensive application process to be established as an accredited training centre by the Scottish Qualifications Authority and we can now deliver a range of courses that are intended to develop people’s skills that will enable them to gain further training and employment.

The PDA in Youth Work has been designed for those working with young people in a community learning and development context. It is suitable for people who have experience of youth work in a paid or volunteering capacity but who might not have formal qualifications in youth work.PDA in Youth Work will be delivered in summer

The course will consist of a theory unit explaining and exploring youth work, a practical unit in a classroom setting where candidates will learn communication and group work skills necessary to engage with young people, frontline practise in a chosen youth work organisation and a live unit where participants will require to organise and lead a youth work session in a workplace or volunteer setting.

The course will run on weekends and evenings for a total of 50 hours.
